They’re cut down from high-performance automotive seat belts. The durable knitted upper material (open enough to breath, tight enough to ward off a few raindrops)? It’s knit—with knots—not woven. It honors the knot-tying methods used by explorers to discover the world. It sits on a soft gum rubber midsole and EVA foam core covered by the aforementioned waffle sole.
